Brilliant love the dry rot search dog
I often get asked about the dogs; How the work affects them? Does it pose a long term heath risk? Do they enjoy their work? Is the work they do dangerous? In this blog I intend to answer some of these questions.
The dogs themselves cannot be harmed by exposure to the dry rot that we train with, we work with tiny amounts that are not releasing spores and 99% of the time these are covered from the dog. Operationally, the dogs are searching for dry rot that is not visible in a traditional Survey so we are not constantly surrounded by fruiting bodies giving off spores.
