This video shows you how i’ve gone about identifying root causes of damp issues to this suspended timber floor. As you can see there is a serious amount of timber decay and active woodworm within the suspended timber floor void. Sometimes you have to remember this moisture issue can be intermittent depending on the amount of rain, showering, using this kitchen sink. Elimination is a massive part on this type of survey, before even thinking about a repair. More often than not when people have a huge dry rot outbreak a drain survey isn’t even carried out and then the dry rot will come back. Sometimes simple things like sub floor ventilation getting blocked from cavity wall insulation can tip the balance, and subsequent decay can occur. If you need advice regarding timber decay within sub floor voids, woodworm issues, and CCTV drain survey in regards to damp issues give us a shout 🙂
